Olivier Forgues
Olivier Forgues is a Toronto-based painter. Originally from Montreal, he obtained a BFA from Concordia University and an MBA from McGill University. Informed by queer experience and shaped by time spent in both cultural and corporate worlds, his oil portraits navigate the tension between vulnerability and candor.
Influenced by Expressionism and alla prima masters, his dynamic brushwork seeks to express a shared humanity in an increasingly fragmented world; he generally paints small to maintain that intimacy with the sitters, creating expressive little curios.
